Reunion update FAQs

  1. Why has the 20-year reunion been canceled?

    • The Hillside High School - class of 2004 20-year reunion has been canceled due to insufficient ticket sales. Despite our efforts, we did not meet the minimum number of participants needed to cover the event’s costs, venue, catering, and operational costs. We explored alternatives, but none were feasible given the current level of interest and financial requirements. We understand this news is disappointing and share in your frustration. We appreciate your understanding and will keep you informed of any future plans or alternative events.

  2. How many people were needed to attend for the event to happen?

    • We needed at least 30 attendees to cover the costs of the venue, catering, and other expenses. Unfortunately, we did not reach that minimum. We had 15 classmates purchase the reunion package.

  3. Will I receive a refund for the package/day party ticket(s) I purchased?

    • Yes, all payments made for the reunion packages and the day party will be fully refunded. Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to process. We appreciate your patience!

  4. How will I receive my refund?

    • Refunds will be processed using the same payment method you used to purchase the package. If you paid by credit card, a refund will be issued to that card. If you paid through Affirm, you will be refunded any amounts you have already paid, minus interest. Please allow 3-10 business days for Affirm to process the refund.

  5. What should I do if I don’t receive my refund within the specified time frame?

    • If you haven’t received your refund within 5-7 business days, please contact hillsidehigh2004reunion@gmail.com for assistance. A member of the committee will respond to you as soon as possible.

  6. What about the merchandise I purchased?

    • We are actively working through a solution and will share updates as soon as possible.

  7. Is there a possibility of rescheduling the reunion for another date?

    • There are no plans to reschedule the reunion at this time. However, we are considering other ways to bring everyone together in the future and will keep you informed of any new developments.

  8. How can I stay connected with classmates despite the canceled reunion?

    • You can join our class Facebook group, follow us on social media, or join our mailing list for updates on any future events or informal get-togethers.

  9. Who made the decision to cancel the reunion?

    • The decision to cancel the 20-year reunion was made by the reunion planning committee after carefully reviewing the number of registrations and the financial feasibility of the event. Despite our best efforts, the low registration numbers made it impractical to proceed. We understand the disappointment this may cause and assure you the decision was not made lightly.

  10. Can I provide feedback on the cancellation or suggest ideas for future events?

    • Absolutely. We welcome your feedback and suggestions. Please send your feedback to hillsidehigh2004reunion@gmail.com.

  11. I’m disappointed that the reunion is canceled. Why couldn’t we find another way to make it work?

    • We understand and share your disappointment. The decision to cancel was made after exploring all possible alternatives. The costs for venue, catering, and other expenses require a minimum level of participation, which we did not reach despite our best efforts. We considered downsizing and other options, but they were not feasible. We are exploring other ways to connect, such as smaller gatherings. If you have suggestions or want to help with future planning, please contact hillsidehigh2004reunion@gmail.com. We appreciate your understanding and support.
